Summary

South georgia will be free of rodents for the first time since shortly after the discovery in 1775, and the spread of rodents to other parts of South Georgia, due to the rapid retreat of glacial barriers, will be prevented. Rodent-inflicted damage to the island's native flora and fauna will cease.
