Summary

This project will massively increase the number of monitored penguin populations around the Southern Ocean, by deploying autonomous camera units that can record the timing and duration of breeding. This will help to identify threats (for example, by differentiating between the influence of climate change and fisheries on penguin breeding success around the Scotia Arc). This project will also provide a template and tools for similar monitoring projects elsewhere through the provision of an online database and analysis tool.
