WHERE Madagascar
Summary
Responding to Covid-19-related food insecurity, this project will perform a rapid pilot of insect and crop farming at a household level. Selected for their short time to harvest and low maintenance, yields will provide short-term relief to food insecurity and potential for longer-term recovery through alternative livelihoods. This will be complemented by monitoring species that are a key indicator of unsustainable practices and socio-economic analysis of COVID-19’s impact. Project evaluation will inform future scale to further catalyse recovery.
