This fellowship will build key technical capacity within the Turks and Caicos Islands’ (TCI) Department of Environment & Maritime Affairs (DEMA). Mr Luc Clerveaux, DEMA Environmental Officer, will complete a MSc in Coastal and Marine Resource Management at the University of Portsmouth. His knowledge and skills in research, planning and policy for marine ecosystem services management will be enhanced and brought back to DEMA. This will bring invaluable benefits to biodiversity conservation in the TCI, particularly through the implementation of key conventions such as CBD, CITES and CMS, and to some extent other Overseas Territories through joint projects and partnerships.
