Purpose: The project will increase our understanding of the functioning of the marine ecosystems of the Tristan islands, and local capacity will be built to take better informed decisions on the sustainable management of the lobster resource and conservation of the wider marine environment, including tackling threats from the introduction of alien species, pollution from shipping incidents and climate change. The Tristan da Cunha Government will continue implementing surveys once project is completed in scientifically robust way and the management plan developed by the project will be utilised and adhered to by Tristan Government and resource users.
