Summary
Central Asia is home for many threatened CITES-listed species, affected by international trade, but has limited representation in CITES processes. The CITES Conference of the Parties in Uzbekistan (2025) offers an opportunity to enhance the region's involvement in wildlife trade interventions. This project strengthens the capacity of national agencies and NGOs to improve wildlife trade regulation and sustainable use. By doing so, stakeholders can better influence biodiversity and community outcomes, reduce poverty through sustainable use, and promote regional collaboration.
