Strengthening capabilities and capacities for sea turtle conservation in Indonesia
Key Facts
FUNDING SCHEME Capability & Capacity

WHERE Indonesia
Summary
Indonesia supports important populations of globally threatened sea turtles, but capabilities and capacities to protect them are weak, whilst poverty hinders coastal communities in many turtle areas. We will strengthen organisational and personal aptitudes of our NGO partner Yayasan Penyu Indonesia (YPI) to enable the organisation to significantly contribute to improved sea turtle conservation and poverty reduction in Indonesia. Project activities focus on increasing YPI’s capabilities and capacities to deliver high quality conservation projects and to develop standardised ranger training.
