Summary
Human-wildlife conflict is a major challenge for both conservation and livelihoods. Honeyguide is a Tanzanian grassroots organisation that has developed a remarkably effective community-owned approach for tackling human-elephant conflict. Honeyguide will build capacity to use this tried-and-tested approach beyond Tanzania through: 1) in-person training for community rangers from Namibia (at their request); and 2) development (with IIED) of interactive training material for dissemination to other countries and communities.
The African partners are supported and mentored throughout the project by IIED
