Summary
The Pantar Strait Marine Protected Area (MPA) of Alor has among the highest marine biodiversity in the Eastern Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. The project focuses on empowering local people of Alor by developing the capacity of community-based surveillance groups, local youths, and children through a series of trainings. The project aims to build independent community groups and leaders, generate a sustainable livelihood, and raise public awareness to support the effectiveness of MPA management in order to protect marine biodiversity.
