Summary
This project aims to understand how COVID-19 has impacted perceptions, consumption and trade of wild meat in Cameroon. Building on an existing Oxford-led project, this project will implement a large-scale mobile phone survey to address this question in urban and rural areas. It will also conduct in-person surveys in Darwin project sites around the Dja Faunal Reserve (DFR) to explore such impacts in-depth. The results will inform local, national and international policymaking and feed into the decision-support tools we are developing in the existing Darwin main project.
