Summary
South Africa has seen a spike in poaching incidents of succulent species, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. This project will use Artificial Intelligence software developed in the FloraGuard project to conduct a mass online search of forums for chats and sales posts to identify possible poaching events and notify law enforcement to act ahead of time. In-country partners will be trained to use this software for continued use and monitoring of poaching in South Africa.
An innovative approach to agriculture in Madagascar enables communities to build climate-adaptive food systems while reducing pressure on biodiversity.
