Summary

To enable the sustainable management of the natural resources and biodiversity, comprehensive data on the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) plants and habitats will be compiled. Kew and TCI DECR’s long-term collaboration and botanical expertise will be applied to identify and map areas of high conservation value and plant diversity across the territory using the established Tropical Important Plant Areas (TIPAs) methodology. Botanical knowledge, local capacity and public awareness are increased as a result, facilitating future species management and outreach.
