Summary
Degradation of dry forest in northern Cambodia has intensified over the last decade due to expanding population, wild species collection and agriculture. Various socio-economically valuable trees essential for ecological restoration are threatened including rare rosewoods and legumes. This project will build capacity of Sra-aem Commune members in diversifying farm-forestry practices and developing new market value chains. Together with the development of mechanisms for linking forest recovery with employment opportunities, this will generate new incomes and restore biodiversity in the long-term.
