Biodiversity Challenge Funds Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Webinar, March 2025

On Thursday 20 March 2025, a webinar was held on Gender Equality and Social and Inclusion (GESI).

This session covered what is meant by GESI, the Biodiversity Challenge Funds' requirements, and how to integrate GESI at both the design and implementation stages of your project. During the session we also covered the principles of a GESI Analysis which projects are being asked to consider when reporting on GESI in their upcoming Annual Reports.

Please note the BCFs adjusted the terminology from ‘Gender Equality and Social Inclusion’ to ‘Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion’ in September 2026 to align terminology with wider Defra programming. While Disability Inclusion was previously considered to be included within Social Inclusion and should already have been a consideration, applicants and projects should be aware of this change.
