Summary
This project will identify the first globally-recognised marine ‘Key Biodiversity Areas’ (KBAs) for seabirds (assessing 33 species) in the Falklands to inform the current MMA process and future MSP, and engage decision-makers on the application of these IUCN-endorsed tools for practicable management decisions. Working with stakeholders to develop an understanding and value of the KBA concept, the project aims to inspire implementation of leading practice in marine management of the Falklands’ globally significant sites for biodiversity.
