Project Summary:
To increase local expertise for scientific research, ecological monitoring and sustainable management in the Galapagos Islands.To understand the mechanisms of natural and anthropogenic factors on the conservation of threatened endemic bird species and associated biodiversity in rich upwelling ecosystems of the Galapagos Islands.
Project Outputs:
UK and host country partner organizations develop a unique partnership to participate in planning process and implementation of project outputs.Management plans, manuals technical reports and papers published and distributed.Multilayered GIS database that describes distribution, densities, and foraging ranges of bird species with physical parameters and fishing areas of the GMR.
