In October 2025, two events were hosted for new projects funded under Darwin Initiative Round 31.
Webinar: Finance, administrative and reporting requirements
On Tuesday 6 October 2025, a webinar was held to provide guidance to new projects on finance, administrative and reporting requirements for new Darwin Initiative, Illegal Wildlife Trade Challenge Fund, and Darwin Plus projects (N.B. Darwin Plus Local will have its own session given its different requirements).
The aim of this webinar was to welcome newly funded projects, and provide advice and support relating to financial, administrative, and reporting requirements.

Workshop: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
On Wednesday 8 October 2025, a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) workshop was held for Project Leaders and technical team members (particularly MEL specialists) for new Darwin Initiative, Illegal Wildlife Trade Challenge Fund, and Darwin Plus projects - this webinar was hosted twice to accommodate different time zones.
The aim was to help new projects to consider the MEL needs of their project and understand the Biodiversity Challenge Funds MEL requirements, including Logframes and Standard Indicators, through presentations and group work exercises with other new projects.
