Summary

Objectives of the trip – expected achievements: We expect to: 1) Get a clearer understanding about the suitability of candidate areas for the reintroduction of the rhinos in Uganda and to identify those areas where reintroduction is feasible 2) Understand the strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the efforts to reintroduce the rhinos in these identified sites 3) Design a realistic rhino reintroduction strategy that identifies all key stakeholders and their specific roles, addresses any identified policy gaps, and stipulates a realistic budget based on a professional assessment. 4) Establish a good working relationship with all the stakeholders especially the UWA, Wildlife Clubs of Uganda and the local district administration.
