Project Summary:
71% of Caribbean amphibians are considered Endangered or Critically Endangered. including the native endemics of the British Virgin Islands. Threats to BVI amphibians face include invasive alien species, but distribution data are needed to inform conservation planning. Bio-acoustic surveys improve detection probability of cryptic species whilst improving access to remote areas. Project-generated data will elucidate habitat associations, threats and recommendations for national action plans. The project is locally driven and globally supported, ensuring a conservation legacy in the long-term.
