Summary

Malawi’s national tree, the Mulanje Cedar, is critically endangered in its remaining natural habitat mainly due to over-exploitation. It has been grown successfully in botanic gardens abroad. This project will apply scientific and horticultural expertise to enable its commercialisation in community nurseries, generating income for poor households in Malawi.
