Promoting biodiversity in sustainable oil-palm landscapes for West African smallholders

DESCRIPTION: This project will increase incomes of oil-palm smallholders in Ghana and enhance biodiversity within oil-palm and adjacent rainforest, by promoting best agricultural practice that boosts yields and provides co-benefits for ant, termite and butterfly biodiversity, in keeping with RSPO sustainability criteria.
OUTCOME: Improved agricultural practices increase incomes of oil palm smallholders in Ghanaian target communities, boost biodiversity within smallholdings and adjacent forest fragments, and promote smallholder uptake of sustainability certification.
