To train develop capacity within Togo to undertake field assessments of selected reptiles and to develop management plans and longer term monitoring to regulate and manage the use of these reptile species to ensure their long term survival and contribution to local economies.

Project Outputs
Train 3 Togolese students for at least 1 year. Produce management plan covering 6 species, Submit 2 papers to peer reviewed journals. Hold workshop in Lome. Present results at several workshops including an international herpetological congress. Enhance networking by further development of links with IUCN/SSC West Africa Sustainable Use Specialist Group, IUCN/SSC African Reptile Amphibian Specialist Group and other universities. Establish a series of field plots for future reptile monitoring.
