Purpose: To evaluate the extent and distribution of genetic diversity among Peruvian vicuna and guanaco populations and produce a long term strategy for conservation and use.
Outputs: 8 weeks training for Peruvian technician; training manual on molecular methods; 12 months training on genetic techniques for Peruvian biologist; population sampling; species management plan; database; scientific papers.
