Purpose: To describe in quantitative terms the diversity of the terrestrial invertebrate fauna of the Etosha National Park and to assess the effects of natural and human-induced factors. To facilitate the establishment of a national network of invertebrate collectors/monitors to the mutual benefit of the Namibian Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the State Museum of Namibia.
Outputs: 50 Namibian staff from National Parks trained in invertebrate ecology; Approx. 10 items of equipment donated to each National Park; Reference collection established at Etosha Ecological institute; smaller reference collection established at 8 National Parks.
