To build local capacity in Assam to have the capacity and information systems for: 1) pygmy hog conservation; and 2) meet overall CBD objectives for the area
a) Comprehensive system for monitoring of pygmy hog populations, other associated grassland species and their habitats in MTR established.
b) New pygmy hog populations established in SRWS/NNP.
c) Trained and accredited instructors for pygmy hog and other grassland species conservation, continuing training of field patrol and monitoring staff.
d) Community education programme.
e) Publications and publicity.
